Paranoid

I feel very insecure right now. I already have a very good offer, but why do I keep wanting to get other (not so good) offers as well? Why can't I be satisfied with what I have, accept the offer and never think about it again?

Part of me is scared that I will change my mind drastically in 2 months time. The other is me worrying that something goes wrong later and the offer is withdrawn. Paranoid. I expect that soon, I will be having nightmares about these stuffs.

Sleeping at 3am writing essays wasnt how I pictured life after A-levels to be =.=

Just a few months ago, I was so sure that new york is my fate, my 'higher calling' lol. I would be so happy if i get a place in New York University. Now that i do, i dont really want to go anymore. Well, i am choosing here between NYU and NTU. (hahaha all the N_Us)

NYU STERN

• Top Business School in the world!
• 50k per year for 4 years
• Gossip Girl is there!
• If take scholarship, have to serve bond so not likely for me to work in new york finance sector and earn the 10k per month income
• Scarily independent school built in the middle of NYC

NTU Business school

• Supposedly top in asia but name unknow internationally
• Scholaship covers tuition and living expenses, so cost = $0 and NO BOND!
• Nearer to home and I will have more confidence to participate in activities and do well academically

College Life!

What The Hall Are You Talking About?

I need to pick a hall~ Since school will be paying for my hostel fees,不住白不住!

Ok, so now, i am leaning towards the air-con-high-rise-classy hall 16! It's the newest hall in NTU. And don't you think the classy-ness suits me??? XD

The next few choices would be halls 4, 5 and 11. Because these halls are know for their productions, bands, etc. The concert stuffs which i really enjoyed doing in JC.

So I will probably visit the campus to review my choices! SO EXCITING!

This is the song i listen to during the prelim period. Everytime i got sick of studying in the library, i would listen to this song. So somehow tunning in to this song right now makes me feel nostalgic of the rjc/lib/prelim/a-level period. I wish i would never have to go back XD

The Irony

Funny how immediately after i posted the 'Hardly Working' post, a thick stack of 'present' came from upstairs, and i had to work non-stop (except when i went out to get milo) till the 7.00pm. I finally finished the stack today afternoon and got to rest a bit before going home. Interesting how i have no idea what these smileys are doing outside raffles place mrt. Only realised that it is the new OCBC promotion when i entered the office. So by right, these are smileys are related to my job, cool!

A few offers and a few rejections came theses few days. After a few emotion roller-coaster rides, I am finally able to stop these things from affecting me too much. The scholarship is probably the best thing that ever happened in my life (yet) and it comes with admission offer to the double degree i really wanted. That's all i need really.

Working Hard or Hardly Working

I like work. I think i came in at a good time because it is really the low peak season now. Everyday i get to make myself a cup of nice warm milo compliemnted by some cookies. My precessor's workload in 1 day = my workload in 2 weeks. It's kinda comparing between the extremes, but you get the idea.

That's why it good, cause i get some free time to handle scholarship applications and surf the net during the day, after i get my work done k!

Anyway, my life these past few weeks has been literally all work no play. I have job in the day, then tuitions at night, then more tuition, open houses/talks on weekends. Really looking forward to this weekend when i finally get to laze around the house. Yay =.=

What if the scenario is now reversed? Will Jack Neo reciprocate the same level of support? I mean no disrespect to Madam Irene Kng and I sincerely admire Madam Irene Kng for her bravery, tolerance and love for her family.

Should men or women get a free pass if their significant other cheats on them? In marital problems such as infidelity, reports have shown that women are more likely than men to forgive a cheating spouse, as they are more emotional and take into account their children and general survival.

Men are just crushed and experience extreme anger over what happened to them and appears to be less willing to forgive. Are women providing too much leeway to cheating husbands?

The reasons for infidelity could be endless. Every individual and every family is different. We all have our own stories, struggles and happiness. May it be evolution, human nature or simple novelty, it is not rocket science technology and the decision on whether to cheat is still entirely in a person’s control.

This Life

This is a really really busy period of my life. I have a full time job, 5 tuition cases, and scholarship applications to fill up. Plus the Simpson and Gossip Girl episode to watch.

Not to mention that I am  deciding on a course of study, which will determine how the rest of my life goes. So don't expect me to be like all chill and relax.

Scholarship interview are like nightmares. They have set all kinds of difficult taskes for us applicants to do. I hope I survive this horrible period. And when 1st June starts, I am going to party party party~~

First Day at Work And Timbre

First day at work was a very new experience to me. From front line customer service to behind the desk clerk. I hated it at first, but now i am starting to love the computer access, 1 hour lunch break and lovely co-workers (though a lot of them are leaving). Was meeting yuxuan at 7pm at Timbre, but work ended at 6pm, so i had some time to spare. Since my canon finally recovered on Monday, i went on a photo-taking spree after work. See the tall tall buildings behind me, that’s where i work!!! So cool~~ Just that i work on the first floor =.=  Was taking picture on the bridge to take in the view of raffles city when i spotted this nice flower patch! Was taking photos outside the patch up i realised i can’t really capture the whole flowering view… So I stepped inside the flower patch. People around me must think that i am crazy. But i don't care, the pictures turned out really nice!!! That the infamous durian. I think my self cam timer skill is also getting better, even yuxuan has no choice but to admit that this photo is nice :)Yuxuan was late. So i ended up taking even more photos around Singapore river.Tried my best to capture Victoria Concert Hall. There’s a very antique feeling attached to it.    A series of timer photos. Lots of passer-bys were nice enough to wait for my timer to click the picture first before walking pass me~rt houseYou can see the Art House!  And the parliament. Nice view at Clark Quay. Yuxuan was late, which explains the extra photos. And she finally arrived. It was so nice talking to her again and exchange gossips! Too bad 53A wasn’t performing. Or else the night would be perfect.We are legal to drink. Yx’s photo taking skills not bad heh! That’s our minty vodka.  And Hell’s kitchen pizza.  Met Shinyi at Timbre! The whole atmosphere at Timbre was really really nice. Look at the lights! Perfect for ‘hanging out' yo~’ (quote yx). Im using some whitening moisturiser nowadays. Working well~The lights at night is beautiful~ And of course my faithful camera was good enough to capture the lights.

Aftermath!

Since everyone else are shamelessly announcing their wonderful results on facebook, i shall too.

I was really nervous lor! When to work in the morning to key cheques and clear off my mind. Then when it’s nearly time, I made my way slowly to Bishan MRT

I screamed when Mrs Tan finally revealed to me my result slip, and it was totally not what i expected!!! (:

 

 I GOT 8 DISTINCTIONS!!!

12 Units, 8 Subjects, 8A

Which is straight As and a distinction for a perfect score. And only 80 students from rjc got perfect scores, less than 150 students in the whole Singapore. Which is the top 1% of Singapore. Which means that in the whole Singapore, only 3 person scored better than me.

And I don’t understand why Hwa Choong is all over the news because RAFFLES IS THE TOP SCHOOL AGAIN!!!! I am very proud and happy for my friends and classmates. They all did better than expectation.

Have been really really busy with work and tuition. Although work is actually quite slack (for now), i am still returning home after 10pm everyday! well, it’s not like i have a lot to do at home anyway.

Going to work half day tomorrow to take my mind off stuffs until destiny calls.
